Check your Licences

Check you licence to see if you have any special hours for the Christmas and New Year period and not just your normal Sunday hours.  Unless you have extended hours on your licence for Sunday Trading, you will need to apply for a Temporary Event Notice (TEN) if you want to open later that the times stated on your licence.

  1. You may have grandfather rights from your old licence (which will be shown on your current licence) and therefore have no restrictions on opening times over the Festive Period
  2. You may have applied for additional hours on Christmas Eve AND/OR New Years Eve
  3. You may have neither of the above!

If your licence does not have 1 and/or 2 above then check your Sunday Hours and if you need to open later than you normally do on a Sunday, you will need to apply for a TEN.
